Location: Eastbourne

Completion Date: June 2025

Duration: 2 Night

Service Type: Lane Closures, Ring Management & Contra-flows

Background

CHM Group supported drainage clearance and inspection works along the A349 in Wimborne. The project area was particularly sensitive due to its location on a busy A road frequently used by emergency services. The objective was to inspect and clear the drainage network to assess its condition, identify potential blockages, and determine whether further improvements were required.

Our Approach

CHM Group worked in close coordination with BCP Council and emergency services to plan and execute the works with minimal disruption to the local network. The team implemented lane closures, ring management, and contraflow systems to maintain continuous traffic flow while ensuring safety for operatives and the public.

Environmentally friendly Oxford Plastics Enduraframe 1500 signage was utilised throughout the scheme. While no new or innovative methods were required, CHM’s proactive management ensured efficient operations and uninterrupted progress across both nights of work.

Key project elements included:

  • Detailed coordination with local authorities and emergency services to maintain rapid access routes.

  • Implementation of traffic management systems designed to sustain constant traffic flow.

  • Night-time working to minimise disruption to the general public.

Results & Impact

  • All works completed safely and without incident.

  • Continuous traffic flow maintained with minimal disruption throughout both nights.

  • Operations completed efficiently and without issue, reflecting CHM’s strong project management and planning standards.

This project highlights CHM Group’s core values: people-powered, proactive, and reliable. Through strong coordination, planning, and safety-led execution, the works were completed smoothly, maintaining full compliance and client satisfaction.
